HCD was formed in the 1980's by the late Howard Cole, Himself a succesful and well respected Superstox driver. After his untimely death in 1990, the business was taken over by his sons until they decided to move on to different careers. Colin had worked at HCD since 1993 and it was with great pride that he and Trudy took over the business in april 2007.

Colin has been joined in the workshop by his eldest son Jordan who is currently doing a motorsport based welding and fabricating apprenticeship and is tutored by Stuart Annible who himself started his working career as an apprentice for Howard Cole and for many years was the top car builder at HCD.
